Privacy Policy

Mysterious Code Ltd (“we”, “us”) is the controller for the personal data processed through this website. This policy explains what we process, why, and what rights you have. We are a small AWS consultancy. This is a static site, with no user accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies of our own.

Who we are

Mysterious Code Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 9263665, with its registered office at:

Mysterious Code Ltd
4th Floor Radius House
51 Clarendon Road
Watford
Herts WD17 1HP
United Kingdom

We operate under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. For anything covered by this policy, write to contact@mysteriouscode.com.

What we process, and why

  • Analytics. We use Plausible, a cookieless analytics service, to see aggregate traffic to this site: which pages get read, roughly how much traffic we get, and where it comes from. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
  • Meeting bookings. If you book a call through our scheduler, SavvyCal, a third-party booking service, processes the name, email address and meeting details you give it, so the call can be arranged and held. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Email correspondence. If you write to us at contact@mysteriouscode.com, we keep that correspondence as ordinary business email, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running correspondence properly.
  • Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, X and client sites elsewhere on this site are just links. Following one takes you to a service we don’t control, governed by its own privacy policy.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t run advertising or ad-tracking of any kind.
  • We don’t sell or share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
  • We don’t set tracking cookies of our own. The only scripts loaded here are Plausible’s cookieless analytics and, on the contact page, SavvyCal’s booking widget.

Third-party services

We don’t control how these two services run their own infrastructure. Their privacy policies, linked above, describe that in full.

How long we keep it

We keep correspondence for as long as our business relationship with you needs it, and no longer. Booking details held by SavvyCal follow SavvyCal’s own retention practices. Plausible reports on aggregate traffic and does not identify individuals.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • have your data erased
  • restrict or object to how we process it
  • receive your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these, write to contact@mysteriouscode.com. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
